An interpretation and translation service is available to translate non confidential or personal information for European families by face to face, telephone and written translation. At the moment there are volunteers in the following languages: Polish, Lithuanian, Latvian, Russian, Italian, Romanian, Slovak, Portuguese, Turkish and Hungarian.


The service is for newly arrived European families settling in Fenland. The service helps schools, locality teams and Children’s Centres engage with newly arrived families.


A referral form must be completed. This can be requested by email or phone. At least 48 hours notice is required to book an appointment, maximum appointment time up to 2 hours. For written translation at least 7 days notice is required with one referral per leaflet per language.
